Local rockers Melkbelly open for arguably one of the most well known current DIY bands around Lightning Bolt and touring Thrill Jockey dudes Oozing Wound.

The show is sold out and has hit over 450 people on their Facebook event page.

Lightning Bolt

Lightning Bolt has been around for around twenty years and has been well known for their chaotic sets and recordings. Their sixth and most recent album "Fantasy Empire" is a new spin on their noisy sound. Seeing as how it's been five years since their last release, I can see why people are packing in here to check these guys out live.

Oozing Wound

Oozing Wound is a group of local dudes who've released two albums on Thrill Jockey. Less weird than their earlier stuff, these guys are focusing on intense thrash metal which is a good complement to Lightning Bolt's energy.

Melkbelly

Melkbelly is bringing the noise to kick off the set. Both Melkbelly and my band The Thons have shared engineers and singles releases, having both worked with Dave at Public House Sound Recordings and Damian with Soapbox / Loud Loop Press. So needless to say I'm excited that these guys are playing with some big names and expect great things for them down the road.
